U&Me – made in Umeå
U&Me is an innovative and sustainable hotel located right in the heart of Umeå city centre. Here you can create your ideal stay, whether it’s compact living or more spacious accommodation you’re looking for. Take advantage of our range of affordable extra features or enjoy some of the many luxurious experiences found right outside your hotel door.
Minimum age requirement for booking a hotel stay without being accompanied by a responsible adult is 18 years.
Our 162 rooms are located on floors 6-13 and are available in sizes S, M, L, and XL. All rooms have beds facing towards the window so you’re guaranteed to wake up with an amazing view. Either of the city or the river – no matter what size of room you’ve booked.
Facilities at U&Me
Upon arrival you are greeted by something far more intriguing than a traditional hotel reception. Our continental indoor courtyard is located in the middle of the cultural hub of Väven. Here you will find a craft bakery, a café, delicatessens, restaurants, a bar and a flower shop. This is both your hotel lobby and your hotel restaurant during your stay with us.
Check-in and check-out is easy and convenient thanks to our digital check-in counters, which make everything as easy as checking in for a flight. The counters are conveniently located under the escalators. After checking-in simply take the lift up to your floor. Our staff are available around the clock if you need any help, either at the check-in desk or just a phone call away with our customer assistance phone.
A great start to the day
After you have woken up take the lift back down to the indoor courtyard and enjoy our delicious and carefully composed hotel buffet at Kulturbageriet (just turn right when you leave the lifts). Be sure to take time to savour the atmosphere and look around. If you want to have your breakfast to go then that’s possible too. Simply tell the staff and they will help you.
U&Sustainability – Our sustainability work
U&Me Hotel is part of the Blå Huset group of companies that work together to actively create a more sustainable society. The hotel has also been awarded the Green Key eco-label – the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. This means as our guest you help contribute to our environmental work without compromising your experience or convenience.
This is Green Key
Green Key* is awarded to accommodation and conference facilities that meet environmental and social sustainability criteria in 13 different areas. Among other things, this means we:
- use renewable electricity, energy-saving lighting and have routines for reducing energy consumption for heating and ventilation.
- have made efforts to reduce water consumption.
- sort and recycle both our own and our guests’ waste.
- uses ecologically-certified cleaning products.
U&Me wants to do more. For you and the environment
As part of the Blå Huset group we participate in and drive a number of social, environmental and business initiatives. Our hotel breakfast, for example, is served at the KRAV certified Kulturbageriet, where at least 50 percent of the raw ingredients used are KRAV labeled / EU-ecological / MSC labeled products. We wash our linen at a Nordic Swan certified local company. U&Me Hotel is also KRAN certified, which means we don’t sell bottled water but serve the purest local tap water instead.
At U&Me Hotel we actively share our ambitions with our suppliers and partners. In this way we help motivate others to adopt a more sustainable way of doing business. We pay it forward.

* More about Green Key
Green Key is a voluntary international eco-label scheme for visitor and tourist facilities located in over 50 countries around the world. The scheme is operated internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which is supported by some of the world’s leading environmental and education organisations, such as UNEP, UNESCO and the World Tourism Organisation.
Green Key Sweden operates the scheme nationally and Green Key certification of all facilities is approved and renewed by an independent jury. All facilities are checked with regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with Green Key’s stringent criteria.
Welcome to U&Me – a new hotel culture
We’re constantly working hard to create a hotel culture that gives all our guests an opportunity to experience and enjoy the very best Umeå has to offer, regardless of their budget or the purpose of their trip.
